Why I Bring Ceramic Masters to My Studio

I believe some of the best learning happens when we create alongside other artists.

My Ceramic Masterclasses bring respected and inspiring ceramic artists into my Blue Mountains studio, giving potters the opportunity to learn directly from makers who have spent years developing their practice, techniques and individual approach to clay.

Keeping each Masterclass small creates space for conversation, questions, experimentation and genuine connection with the visiting artist.

For me, it’s also about bringing these opportunities closer to our regional creative community. You shouldn’t always have to travel into the city to access exceptional artists and teachers.

Most importantly, these Masterclasses are about sharing knowledge, building community and spending a few wonderful days immersed in clay.

Join me at my Blue Mountains ceramic studio for a series of specialist Artist-in-Residence Ceramic Masterclasses.

Open to ceramicists of all skill levels, these multi-day workshops offer a unique opportunity to learn directly from highly regarded ceramic artists, explore specialist techniques, and develop your practice in a small, supportive studio environment.

Secure your place through the website or by direct deposit.

Artist statement

Nestled in the mid Blue Mountains, at Faulconbridge, Sharron’s studio overlooks the escarpment, offering a serene outlook to create in her studio. Under the guise of S.Mountain Ceramics, Sharron works in her bush studio, creating sculptural and functional ceramic forms reflecting her connection with the Gundungurra land. Reflecting on aspects of global warming and the climate crisis whilst revelling in the colour and form which surrounds on her bush property in the Blue Mountains.
