Time: 10am–4pm
Location: Faulconbridge, Blue Mountains
Join Sharron for a one-day immersive workshop exploring how to build larger ceramic forms by hand with confidence and control.
Set in Sharron’s peaceful Blue Mountains studio, this workshop embraces the slower rhythm of coil building, giving you time to experiment, respond to the clay and develop your ideas as you work.
What You’ll Explore
Learn practical techniques for successfully working at a larger scale, including:
-
Building strong, stable forms using coils
-
Creating and working with pedestal feet
-
Using templates to develop and control your form
-
Understanding the ergonomics of working at scale
-
Cutting into and altering forms as you build
-
Integrating pattern, texture and surface into the construction process
-
Refining and resolving larger handbuilt vessels
Coiling is an intuitive and thoughtful way of making. The slower process allows you to pause, adjust and respond to your work as it develops.
No previous ceramic experience is required.
Come on your own, meet other makers, or gather a group of friends for a creative day in the studio.
