Ceramic Foundation basic skills course 1
Dates: 4th, 18th and 25th of March (3 lessons)
Venue: S.Mountain Ceramics at Faulconbridge, NSW
Time: Friday evening 6pm-8.30pm
Ceramic Foundation basic skills course 1 is designed to provide an introduction to the range of techniques you to make your own designs in clay.
> What will I learn
Lessons 1 & 2 you will be working with foundational ceramic hand-building techniques where you will make your own designed forms. These will be finished at the end of lesson 2, dried and fired in the kiln and you will come back for Lesson 3 where you will be guided through the basics glazing and colouring your forms.

Each lesson is 2.5 hours.
Lessons begin at 6.30pm, please arrive from 6.15pm to ensure we get the most out of the session. Be guided by me, I will hold your hand every step of the way (Covid safe practices of course) - literally if needed. You can purchase your own bag of beautiful, tactile midfire clay, for the course and all of your firing and glazing are included in the cost.

Full payment or a deposit can be placed to secure your place in the class. If paying by deposit, the final amount must be paid via EFT or cash.
Materials charge - Clay is $27 per bag and purchased as required from the studio or at the time of booking online.
Cash or EFT only accepted when purchased at the beginning of the first lesson. You will have leftover clay for more making at home or for the next course. Kiln hire is available at any time. Glaze cost is included in the course.
Minimum numbers are required to run this course (4 participants)

This class is ideal for folks with zero experience, though to those who've had a few lessons, but need a refresher to improve their technique.
> Can I reschedule
Class sessions run for 3 weeks, see the dates above. Same day, same time. Sorry, if you can’t make it to a session, if you have Covid symptoms, adhere to current health advice. Look out for a time when a workshop is on so you can sit in and complete your work and get your studio time in if space is available.

You only need to book once and you will be automatically signed up for all of the 3 lessons.

> About me:
I am a ceramic artist and educator of over 28 years. I have a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Arts) and Diploma of Education. My Ceramics studio is at Faulconbridge in the Blue Mountains NSW. I find my inspirations come from the markings and observations in the natural landscape.
I’m blessed to have my work is featured in a range of retail outlets including the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre, Blackheath Creative, Bespoke and Co. Bathurst, Studio on Anson Orange and the Hawkesbury Remakery who support artists and artisans across Australia.

How do I make payment?
- Online, EFT or in Cash. Payments can be made as a deposit or the full cost. Options include adding your bag of clay at the time of booking or you can purchase your clay in the first session.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the course?
- Minimum age 10 + years. Children MUST be accompanied by an adult.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
- Parking on Chapman Parade, Faulconbridge
What can I bring into the event?
- Safe studio shoes, water bottle, aprons are optional.
- All equipment, firing of your ceramic pieces, tea & coffee are included in the course cost.
